
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar Chairs Meeting on Allocation of Healthcare Professionals in Alamein
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting at the ministry’s headquarters in New Alamein City to discuss the latest developments regarding the assignment of healthcare professionals and to review mechanisms for their fair distribution across healthcare facilities, in line with the actual needs of the health system.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the meeting focused on enhancing health workforce policies and ensuring the optimal distribution of all healthcare professionals. The aim is to raise the efficiency of the healthcare system and improve the quality of services provided to citizens. Discussions included mechanisms for collecting needs assessments by engaging health directorates and relevant authorities. The Minister directed the preparation of a comprehensive survey of the number of graduates across various health specialties, actual workforce needs, and the number of professionals currently assigned. In addition, the meeting reviewed resignation rates over the past five years to build an accurate database that would support future distribution strategies.
He added that the meeting also addressed the establishment of clear mechanisms for allocating healthcare professionals based on real needs, to ensure fairness in distribution and the provision of high-quality healthcare services. This involves aligning the number of graduates with requirements across specialties and regions, while adhering to precise standards for distribution, monitoring, and evaluation, in order to strengthen the efficiency of the healthcare system.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed El-Tayeb, Deputy Minister of Health and Population; Dr. Hanady Mohamed, Head of the Medical Professions Development Sector; Ms. Manal Mamoun, Head of the Central Administration for Human Resources; and Counselor Mohamed El-Menshawy, the Minister’s Legal Advisor, who joined via video conference.
