Deputy NUCA Chief Inspects Badr City Utilities, Urges Operational Upgrades

As part of the continuous oversight by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) to ensure the provision of top-quality services across new urban cities, Eng. Abdel Raouf El-Ghaity, Deputy Head ofNUCA for Utilities, conducted an extensive field visit to Badr City.

During the visit, he inspected several ongoing utility projects, including water and sewage services, to assess the rogress of implementation, the operational efficiency of utility stations, and the quality of services provided toresidents

 Utility Stations and Maintenance Protocols Under Review

The inspection began with a visit to Badr’s water and sewage treatment plants, where Eng. El-Ghaity ensured the smooth daily operation and integrity of control systems. He listened to detailed presentations from on-site engineers about operational mechanisms, including preventive maintenance routines, pump efficiency, and water quality control in accordance with health and environmental standards.

He emphasized the urgent need for strict adherence to preventive maintenance schedules and the importance of immediate resolution of any technical issues. He affirmed that the utility sector in Badr receives priority attention due to the city’s ongoing residential and industrial expansions.

 Upgrading Infrastructure & Future Planning

The Deputy Head of NUCA also stressed the significance of enhancing the efficiency of water and sewage networks, improving service levels to match the increasing demand, and maintaining sustainable operations to support urban and investment growth.

In turn, Eng. El-Sayed Ibrahim Amin, Head of the Badr City Authority, confirmed that all utility stations are operating at full capacity and high efficiency. He added that comprehensive development plans are underway, in coordination with NUCA, including expanding existing stations and upgrading operational systems.

He further explained that the Authority is closely following up on utility operations in newly developed residential neighborhoods and industrial zones, to ensure that services keep pace with the rising population density and growing economic activity.

Badr City Gears Up for Major Expansion

These efforts fall in line with the Ministry of Housing’s overarching strategy to enhance quality of life in new urban cities. Badr City is considered one of the fastest-growing cities in East Cairo, benefiting from its strategic proximity to the New Administrative Capital, as well as a strong infrastructure base that positions it as a promising industrial and residential hub.

The visit concluded with commendation for the technical teams involved, and a reaffirmation of the importance of daily monitoring, supported by regular reporting on progress and challenges.
