On the occasion of the 83rd anniversary of the Battle of El Alamein, Dr. Eng. Mohamed Khalafallah, Head of the New Alamein City Authority and Supervisor of the Tourist Villages Authority, announced that Colonel Ahmed Shehba, Director General of Security at the New Alamein City Authority, participated in the international commemoration ceremony held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at both the Greek War
Memorial and the German War Memorial in New Alamein City.
Dr. Khalafallah explained that the ceremony was attended by a number of ambassadors, military attachés, and representatives of countries that took part in World War II, along with Major General Alaa Youssef, Head of El Alamein Center, representing Major General Khaled Shoaib, Governor of Matrouh. The event honored the memory of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives on the land of Alamein — a timeless symbol of valor and peace.

The ceremony began with the playing of national anthems and the laying of wreaths at the memorials, in an atmosphere filled with respect and reverence for the heroic soldiers whose sacrifices have been eternally inscribed in history.
Dr. Eng. Mohamed Khalafallah emphasized that New Alamein City today stands as a living witness to a remarkable chapter of human history, where a glorious past meets a promising present, conveying a universal message of peace from the land of Alamein to all nations of the world.

He added that the ceremony concluded with high-level official and diplomatic participation, reflecting the profound respect and international recognition New Alamein City enjoys as a global landmark symbolizing both war and peace.
